Alert: dbBkUpAge

What does it mean? What do I do about it?

Example alert from the ProTop Portal:

What does it mean?

This alert tells you that an OpenEdge probkup has never been run against this database. It might reflect that this db is new and reminding you to add it to your database backup scheme.

What to do?

If this is a database you expect to be able to restore, roll forward, use with replication, etc., then you should be using the OE probkup to back up your OE databases.

If you are using another means of effectively backing up your OE databases, and you do not want to be reminded of the fact that you are not using probkup, then comment out the line in your etc/alert.*.cfg file that begins dbBkUpAge.
