Alert: dbIntegrity [string] <> enabled

What does it mean? What do I do about it?

Example alert from the ProTop Portal:

What does it mean?

This alert is telling you that the database is being run in "no-integrity" mode (or, "minus integrity"). It was started with the "-i" startup parameter which means no crash protection. It will run faster but it will also run without using database integrity or recovery features.

What to do?

This mode is only for bulk data loading or for large batch runs. It reduces the number of disk input or output operations. Loading a database for the first time is a good example of a use for this parameter.

If you have a database running with no integrity, verify this is intended and ensure the risks are known.
