What does it mean? What do I do about it?
Example alert from the ProTop Portal:
What does it mean?
Your database can be running after imaging, yet you are not running an After Image Writer process. The AIW is a background process that writes AI buffers to disk soon after they are filled. If the AIW works effectively, client and server processes rarely wait for a modified buffer to be written to disk.
What to do?
Add this line to the script you use to start your database after the database is started:
proaiw <dbname>
It should be started when you start your BIW, APW, and Watchdog processes.
Or, if the database is running under the admin server, enable the AIW in OEE/OEM.
If all else fails...
