Writes (chart)

I see a chart labeled Writes (under Async Writer Statistics) in the ProTop Portal. What's it about?

Asynchronous writer statistics:

APW Checkpoint writes = number of writes from the checkpoint queue.

APW Queued writes = number of writes to clear the APW queue.

APW Scan writes = number of writes from the scan cycle.

APW Total writes = sum of the number of writes.

BIW and AIW Partial = partially filled buffers that were written to disk.

BIW and AIW Total = buffers that were written to disk.

NOTE: These metrics are ”per second.”
