OpenEdge Memory Leak with SSL
Progress has discovered a memory leak associated with the use of Secure Sockets Layer in OpenEdge. How to fix it?
OpenEdge leaks memory when SSL is in use with the default value for SSL session reuse. In our case, with samples every 5 minutes, that results in pt3agent growing at a rate of roughly 3MB per hour.
The solution is to add -nosessionreuse to the PORTALOPTIONS property in bin/localenv.
The complete list of affected versions is unknown at this time, but is verified as impacting OE 12.8.
