Alert: currCnx num > n

What does it mean? What do I do about it?

Example alert from the ProTop Portal:

What does it mean?

Current connections to the named PASOE application instance have exceeded the alert threshold. This could indicate abnormal behavior.

What to do?

Check the status of the named PASOE instance/application using OEE/OEM. Is this number of connections normal? Are they in the expected status?  Do you need to load balance?

You can also use the ProTop RT "j" command key to see and review the PASOE Information panel.

Or check your PASOE Trends on the ProTop Portal to see if this is a new normal for you (the app is growing) or a sudden spike. If this is a new normal, set the alert threshold to a level that you now consider above normal and want to be alerted to.
