We typically recommend the use of Telegraf to track server resource utilization. If that is not an option, rest assured ProTop is still watching from a uniquely OpenEdge perspective!
Here are a few ways ProTop is or can be keeping tabs on the server your database is running on:
- CPU - BogoMIPS
- Memory - Available memory (OSinfo) metric, alertable but not trended
- Memory - Dirty Memory Report (bin/dirtymem.sh) shows which processes are using the most memory in descending order
- Disk space - “df"
- IO Response - SyncIO & Random reads
- Network - User Experience
